We appreciate your interest in supporting PageSlayers. This summer and next, we're partnering with the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation (OLCDC) to bring FREE creative writing summer camps for emerging writers in Opa-locka. With support from the Knight Arts Challenge, we're offering 3, 2-week creative writing summer camps for 4th and 5th graders from the Opa-locka community. Free breakfast, lunch, t-shirts, and writing supplies will be provided for each camper, every session, for a total of 45 kids. Each donation we receive will be matched by the Knight Foundation, so every bit goes a long way! To donate to our cause, please click on the button below. You will be taken to the Miami Foundation, a local organization who administers our fundraising.
We’re working hard, and now more than ever we need your support to make our six-week summer camp dream come true! With your help, PageSlayers will be able to hire professional, published writers of color to teach our young campers in Opa-locka. We’ll also use donations to procure materials for collaborative zines, and hold our end of the summer event on the evening of July 28: a free reading and exhibition held at The ARC in Opa-locka for the campers to perform an original piece of writing for an audience of friends, family, and the community!
Thank you for your help and support and please share with your family, friends, and community!
